Biography: Carl Zimmer is the author of numerous books about science, including Parasite Rex, Evolution: The Triumph of an Idea, and Soul Made Flesh. He writes frequently for the New York Times as well as for magazines such as National Geographic, Scientific American, and Discover, where he is a contributing editor and columnist. Since 2003, he has written a blog about biology called “The Loom.” Zimmer has won awards for his writing from the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the National Academy of Sciences. Zimmer received a B.A. in English, magna cum laude, from Yale, where he is now a lecturer in the Environmental Studies Program.
