CASW Receives
National Science Board
Annual Public Service Award

CASW has won the 2003 National Science Board Public Service Award. The award honors persons and organizations for their efforts to increase public understanding of science and engineering.

CASW received the award in recognition of the many initiatives it has introduced since its establishment in 1959 to help improve the quality of science news reaching the public.

In presenting the award, the NSB, the governing body of the National Science Foundation, extolled CASW in particular for its annual New Horizons in Science program.

The NSB conferred the award on May 21 at a black-tie banquet at the State Department. Accepting the award were CASW president Jerry Bishop and executive director Ben Patrusky.
